MATT LAST
From 2011 - 2014, Matt studied at the University of Wales, Swansea, obtaining a BSc in Motorcycle Engineering. During this time, he also raced in the UK and Europe, fighting for podiums and winning championships.
After graduating, Matt joined the MotoGP World Championship paddock where he has spent the last 10 seasons as a Data Engineer and Crew Chief.
In 2022, Matt won the Moto2 World Championship with Augusto Fernandez. He also won back to back Team World Titles in 2022 & 2023 with Pedro Acosta and Albert Arenas.
As data systems become more common, Matt helps riders at all levels to optimise their performance, using techniques from World Championship.
The Journey So Far
2011-2014
University of Wales Swansea - BSc Motorcycle Engineering
Studies included data analysis, motorcycle dynamics, CAD/CAM, motorsport management. This provided the essential educational foundation.
2015-2016
2015 was a single rider team with Sandro Cortese. In 2016, the team welcomed Jonas Folger to the squad. Matt was the data engineer for both riders and achieved multiple podium successes.
